Erosion/Changes in Earth

• See "Weathering and Erosion" VCR

• Build a mountain in a sandbox.  Using straws, have children simulate wind erosion.  Then place ice cubes at the top of the mountain and allow to melt.  Pour water down the mountain and simulate erosion by water.

• Read "Danger!  Earthquakes. 

• Use two boxes of instant chocolate pudding to make the "mantle" of the earth.  Lay graham crackers on top of the thickening pudding.  Explain what tectonic plates are and how earthquakes happen.
