Example story from a second grade student
It was a snow day. No school! I am going sledding on the fast snow hills at the golf course. I put on my colorful snowsuit. I got out my fuzzy warm hat and gloves. I put on my new pink and purple boots. I called my cousin, Riley. Then I got out my brown sled. It is really fast! When we got to the golf course, we went sledding for three hours. Suddenly, my sled was heading for the trees. Oh, no! I rolled off my sled quickly. I barely missed the trees. Boy, was I close! Sledding is so much fun!
