Mixtures
Read Dr. Seuss's The Oobleck
Make oobleck
Tint 1 cup water blue. Pour water into 1 1/2 cups cornstarch. If the oobleck seems runny, add more water. (oobleck should flow when the bowl is tipped and feel like a solid when it is not.) Do not pour oobleck down a drain)
Other mixtures:
Silly slime: Mix 1 cup room temperature water, 1 cup glue, and food coloring. In another bowl, mix 1 1/3 cup warm water and 4 T. Borax laundry booster. Slowly pour the glue mixture into the Borax mixture, but do not mix together. Roll the glue mixture around in the Borax mixture 4-5 times. Then lift out the glue mix out of the Borax. Knead 2-3 times. Give kids some of the mixture in a baggie.
Silly Putty: Mix together 2 cups white school glue and 1 cup liquid starch. Set aside until dry. Store in plastic baggie.
